The maturity of the U.S. corn crop is running at its slowest pace since 2009. For soybeans dropping leaves, it's the slowest since 1996. That's according to Crop Progress report of the September 22 week.
A cooler bias in the weather could stick around this year, bringing up real concerns about the damage an early frost, freeze could cause. Drew Lerner of World Weather Inc. says a normal or even early freeze is possible.
