Southern Hemisphere group elects president

The Southern Hemisphere Association

of Fresh Fruit Exporters elected Alan Pollard from Pipfruit New Zealand as president of the association.

Previously, Pollard was the chief executive for Pipfruit New Zealand Inc. and the CEO of New Zealand-based law firm Harmans Lawyers. Pollard was selected president of the fruit group on Feb. 9 in Berlin, during the 25th Fruit Logistica annual trade show, according to a news release.

"SHAFFE is a unique pre-competitive opportunity, to work on trade topics which do matter to the entire Southern Hemisphere and create a common market understanding," said Pollard, in the release."

Pollard succeeds Sergio Del Castillo of ProCitrus, Peru, as president of the organization, according to the release.
