For the third straight year, President Donald Trump will speak to members of the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) at their 101st convention next week in Austin, Texas. The president is slated to speak on Sunday, Jan. 19, according to a statement from Farm Bureau.
“The American Farm Bureau is honored President Trump will return for a third consecutive year to speak with farmers and ranchers who work tirelessly to produce the quality food and fiber our country needs,” said AFBF President Zippy Duvall in a press release. “We are grateful that he has made agricultural issues a priority and look forward to welcoming him to Austin at a time when there is much to talk about, from trade progress to important regulatory reforms.”
President Trump will be joined by two of his key Cabinet members at the event: Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler are also scheduled to speak.
The appearance before the farm group will come on the heels of the scheduled signing of the Phase One trade agreement with China, set for Wednesday at the White House.
