OSHA Expands Temporary Guidance on Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing

The Agricultural Retailers Association provides the following update from D.C. regarding important federal actions effecting its members during the public health crisis related to COVID-19:

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued a memorandum detailing expanded temporary enforcement guidance on respiratory protection fit-testing for N95 masks in all industries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The memorandum expands the temporary enforcement guidance provided in OSHA’s March 14, 2020, memorandum, which applied to healthcare, to all workplaces covered by OSHA where there is required use of respirators. This expansion will take effect immediately and remain in effect until further notice.

ARA commends this action which was one of the recommendations in a letter ARA sent to President Trump on March 19.
