Partnering with Growers Edge, Growmark announces a yield guarantee for its AgValidity technology testing program.
“We are trying to make it as easy of a decision as possible for farmers to use new technologies and try new products,” says Lance Ruppert director of agronomy marketing & technology for Growmark.
The partnership between Growmark and Growers Edge has developed the Agronomic Performance Product (APP), which is a proprietary platform based on Growmark product yield trials and the Growers Edge analytic prediction system.
“This provides a new way to mitigate risk,” Ruppert explains. “It gives farmers another program to consider as they weigh their options in managing their business.”
If a field’s result falls below specific expectations, the grower receives some compensation for lost yield.
Participation requires using Growmark agronomic recommendations including: seed, grid soil sampling and variable rate fertilizer applications, as well as following farm-specific recommendations for phosphorus, potassium, lime, nitrogen, herbicides, fungicides, etc.
Ruppert explains APP does not require any additional data collection as it’s based on what farmers are already reporting to crop insurance.
The program will have a limited launch in 2020.
The AgValidity program was launched in 2019 to test early-stage ag technologies and new products.
