For 2021 growing season, Corteva introduces a new formulation of Instinct nitrogen stabilizer.
Instinct NXTGEN has received EPA registration and key state label approvals. This new formulation will be the product fulfilling upcoming orders of Instinct.
Instinct NXTGEN, which contains Optinyte technology, is an enhanced formulation of Instinct. Corteva says the product provides eight weeks of protection of urea, UAN and liquid manure.
The new formulation of Instinct NXTGEN provides lower viscosity for better handling in the early spring. Additionally it has a reduced use rate of 24 ounces per acre—versus 37 ounces per acre—for better blending when mixing with urea.
“Optinyte technology is proven to keep nitrogen in the root zone, where it can help maximize crop yield potential and ROI for farmers while protecting the environment,” Jeff Moon, Market Development Specialist, Corteva Agriscience said in a product announcement. “These benefits are backed up by more than 1,000 field trials and university studies for over 45 years.”
Corteva says the product:
- Increases average yield by 5.2% when used with spring applications
- Promotes 28% greater soil nitrogen retention
- Reduces leaching by 16%
- Lessens greenhouse gas emissions by 51%
“At Corteva Agriscience, our customers are always top of mind. We wanted to ease application stress with an improved formulation of Instinct nitrogen stabilizer, particularly for those customers who use urea,” said Danny Leckie, U.S. Product Manager, Nitrogen Stabilizers, Corteva Agriscience. “The lower use rate of Instinct NXTGEN nitrogen stabilizer allows for simplified mixing with urea by preventing clumping, stickiness and clogged machinery.”
