With its new remarketing program, Claas of America will offer used equipment at 80% of its dealerships in North America under the First Claas Used program. The program differs from traditional used equipment options because of its ‘certification’ process, the company says.
“We’re starting with two main lines of equipment: Combines and forage machinery,” says Allen Miller, Claas remarketing manager. Each machine is rated gold, silver or bronze based on strict quality standards outlined by the company.
- Gold- Claas combines that are five years old or newer and have fewer than 2,500 hours. Each is thoroughly cleaned, detailed and inspected by a certified technician. Each combine is reconditioned and carries a one-year Maxi Care 500 protection plan.
- Silver- Combines and foragers that are five years old or newer with fewer than 2,500 hours. Machines are cleaned, detailed and inspected. Inspectors provide a recommended parts list to farmers so he or she knows what repairs might need to be made. Farmers can make those repairs themselves or through Claas trained technicians to make the machine eligible for gold status.
- Bronze- Provides no age or hour restrictions. These machines are thoroughly cleaned and are operational.
“The First Claas Used program allows grower to find not only what Claas machinery best fits their needs, but also what falls within their budget, Miller says. By creating a common standard across its dealer network, Claas ensures that gold-level reconditioning at one dealership will mean the same at a dealership 30 miles down the road.
