Automation and innovation, and how they'll be solving problems on the horizon, is a theme at the United FreshTEC Conference, and Taylor Farms CEO Bruce Taylor will provide first-hand knowledge of the issue.
Taylor is the scheduled keynote speaker at the June 13-15 conference in Chicago.
FreshTEC includes panel discussions on pre- and post-harvest automation, controlled growing environments and food safety in packing and processing operations, according to a news release.
Registration is available online and attendees will have access to the United FreshMKT Expo, Global Cold Chain Expo and the International Floriculture Expo. Early bird rates are available through April 25.
At the FreshTEC University Showcase, universities will share ag technology projects. A new expo feature, the FutureTEC Zone, is a display area for start-up companies bringing new technologies to the fresh foods industry, according to the release. Western Growers will feature companies from its Center for Innovation and Technology, Salinas, Calif.
The FreshTEC Learning Center features 45-minute educational sessions on topics including sanitary equipment design, transportation, cybersecurity, packaging and biotechnology, according to the release.
