There are roughly 8,000 FFA chapters throughout the United States. Ten of them were up for a major award at the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis last week. The ten chapters were from across the country and competed for the Medal of Excellence award.
According to the National FFA website, ten high school chapters were chosen as Model of Excellence chapter. Those National FFA Model of Excellence chapters exhibit exemplary qualities in all categories of growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. An overall national winter was chosen out of the Model of Excellence chapters.
AgDay national reporter Betsy Jibben visited one of the chapters located in Burlington, Illinois.
