A:Our Optimal Acre Program started two years ago, but we were finding that people who wanted to make the investment in doing grid sampling and variable-rate fertilizer recommendations found the initial upfront cost more than they could handle in one year. We thought if we can share that upfront initial investment with the grower and spread that out over four years, we would be able to drive more adoption. That’s worked, and the advantage of being further behind is we didn’t have to learn everything on the way; we just have to adopt it and drive forward.
