Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue is paid a visit to Purdue University this week. He took time to answer questions during his stop on campus.
Perdue touched on immigration policy and farm labor. He said a proposal could be released to tackle the issue soon.
“The administration I think is very close to coming out with a comprehensive immigration proposal dealing with border security, asylum, refugee status as well as a legal workforce,” said Perdue. “We got an assigned detail person working with the White House right now to make sure agriculture is represented in that.”
Perdue also took questions from the audience.
