You can now use Excel to easily schedule appointments for your clients and jobs for your employees. The new perpetual task scheduler from Shift Schedules allows you to assign jobs or clients to your employees throughout the day in whatever time increment is best for your business.

A plumbing contractor may need to assign his plumbers to customers in 1 hour increments between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM for 6 days a week while a nail salon may need to set up 30 minute appointments for its clients for 5 days a week from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. In another case, a manufacturing plant may need to assign employees to tasks in 4 hour blocks for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. This spreadsheet is very flexible and fits most appointment or task scheduling situations.

The Perpetual Task Scheduler from Shift Schedules lets you specify the time increment to use, the days and hours you are open for business, the hours each of your employees is available throughout the week, and the tasks each employee is qualified to perform. Once these parameters are defined you can assign tasks or clients to your employees or appointments to your customers using drop-down menus of qualified employees.

The task schedulers are available for up to 100 employees and 5,000 tasks in either 1,000 or 2,000 time increments. If, for example, your time increments are 1 hour and your business is open 40 hours a week you can schedule up to 50 weeks into the future in one of the 2,000 increment schedulers. And the best part is that after 20 time increments have gone by you can click a button and the top 20 expired time slots will be deleted and the rest will be moved up the sheet making room for 20 more at the bottom of the sheet making this a perpetual scheduler.

These spreadsheets work in Microsoft Excel for the PC but not in some versions of Excel for the Mac or in other spreadsheet programs. They are priced between $129 and $429 depending on the number of employees and tasks you need to schedule. The spreadsheets are described in greater detail and can be downloaded from the Shift Schedules Web site at http://www.shiftschedules.com/appointmentscheduler.htm and used freely for evaluation.
