Yield estimates
1) Corn
a) (Ears in 1/1000 acre x rows per ear x kernels per row)/90 = Bushels/Acre
2) Soybeans
a) Assuming 120,000 plants per acre and 3,100 seeds per pound:
i) Pods per Plant x Soybeans per Pod x 0.65 = Bushels/Acre
b) If stand is 150,000 plants per acre, then increase yield by 25%
c) If seed count is 2,500 seeds per pound, then increase yield by 25%
3) Sugarbeets
a) In 22” rows, take pounds of beets in 10 feet of row x 1.18 = Tons/Acre
b) In 30” rows, take pounds of beets in 10 feet of row x 0.87 = Tons/Acre
4) Wheat
a) Assuming 14,500 seeds per pound:
i) (Heads per square foot x Kernels per head)/20 = Bushels/Acre
