Using the productivity index
We have been receiving more calls concerning the productivity of land that goes up for rent or sale….
The Productivity Index (PI) can be a very valuable tool for making these decisions….
It can also help make decisions on where to allocate resources such as fertilizer, crop type, drainage improvement, etc….
A field’s PI is associated with soil type and is very difficult to determine without the aid of a computer….
Using a computer, we can determine the % of each soil type and weight the PI of that soil type to arrive at a PI for the whole field….
Give me a call (218-280-5733) if you would like to see the PI for a field, so that you can see how useful they are!
