Progress reported by ISU’s Nutrient Research Center

Two sets of progress reports are now available online for research projects funded through the Iowa Nutrient Research Center at Iowa State University.

One set is the first quarterly reports for projects funded for 2014-2015. The other is year-end reports for 10 projects funded for 2013-2014.

Munson Hybrids donates UAV to WIU School of Ag

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is now among the tools Western Illinois University School of Agriculture faculty members will have access to thanks to Munson Hybrids. On Friday (Jan. 16) officials from Munson Hybrids presented the DJI S800 UAV to School of Ag Director Andrew Baker at Western.

Choosing the correct liming material

Based upon the recommendations of a reputable soil pH report, this time of year may be a good time to apply lime to your soil. Depending on the crop you are planting, recommended liming requirements are intended to adjust the soil pH, so that availability of macronutrients such as Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K) are optimized.
