Portland Weekly Grain Review Part 2
Pacific Northwest Add Weekly Grain Summary

   Cash Soft White Wheat - Pacific Northwest:  Bids for US 1 Soft White 
Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during August 
ended the reporting week on Thursday, August 1, at 7.23-7.30, mostly 
7.2850.  Bids were 5.00 to 23.75 cents per bushel higher than last 
Thursday's noon bids for August delivery of 6.9925-7.25.  White club 
wheat premiums ranged from zero to 20 cents per bushel, mostly zero 
cents.  There were no white club wheat premiums for nearby delivery for 
last week.  One year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat and white club 
wheat for August delivery were 8.60-8.65, mostly 8.60.  Nearby bids for 
US 1 Soft White wheat began the week on Friday at the weekly low of 
mostly 7.1350, then advanced to mostly 7.1950 on Monday, to mostly 
7.2275 on Tuesday and to 7.31 on Wednesday.  Today (Thursday), bids 
moved to mostly 7.2850.  Soft white wheat bids were supported by the 
higher Chicago September wheat futures.  New confirmed export sales of 
white wheat this week were to Japan and Taiwan.  Forward month bids for 
soft white wheat were as follows:  September 7.23-7.33, October 7.30-
7.4550, November and December 7.35-7.4550.  One year ago, forward month 
bids for soft white wheat were as follows:  September 8.60, October 
8.55-8.61, November and December 8.55-8.70.

   Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of July 25, 2013 for 
the marketing year beginning June 1, 2013 and ending May 31, 2014, 
totaled 1035.7 thousand MT compared to 1093.9 thousand MT on July 18, 
2013, and 1266.3 thousand MT one year ago.  Outstanding white wheat 
export sales for the 2013-2014 marketing year were to the following 
countries in 1000 MT:  Philippines 185.0, China 120.0, South Korea 
89.2, Japan 84.2, Guatemala 59.8, Yemen 45.0, Thailand 28.5, Indonesia 
20.0, Nigeria 19.2, Chile 14.0, Malaysia 11.3, Taiwan 10.2, Vietnam 
3.0, Hong Kong 1.4, Canada 1.1, Burma 0.6, and total unknown 343.2.  
Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of July 25, 2013, in 1000 
MT for the 2013-2014 marketing year, totaled 368.8 compared to 447.1 
one year ago.

   Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of July 25, 2013 for the 
marketing year beginning June 1, 2013 and ending May 31, 2014, in 1000 
MT, totaled 46.1 compared to 55.4 on July 18, 2013 and 133.9 one year 
ago.  Outstanding barley export sales for the 2013-2014 marketing year 
in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT:  Japan 23.8, 
Libya 20.0, Taiwan 1.5 and South Korea 0.8.  Accumulated barley export 
shipments as of July 25, 2013 were 6.2 thousand MT compared to 1.6 one 
year ago.

   Coarse feeding grains:  Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to 
Portland in single rail cars were 257.25-264.00, 13.75 to 17.00 per ton 
lower than last Thursday's bids of 274.25-277.75.  Bids for US 2 Yellow 
Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Washington, 
and Hermiston, Oregon were 261.50-269.00, 3.25 to 13.25 per ton lower 
than last Thursday's bids of 264.75-282.25.  Cash corn bids were 
pressured by the lower Chicago September corn futures for the week.  
Bids for US 2 Heavy White Oats for August delivery were 255.00, 20.00 
lower than last Thursday's noon bids.
