Minneapolis Weekly Grain Summary
Prices for the week ending Thursday, June 26, 2014
**The prices for spring wheat on the spot rail market are now quoted
The milling wheat was lower on the 14 pct protein, however that was in large
part due to only a couple cars available on the floor when the market rolled to
the September futures. The 15 pct protein market was higher, but once again the
full range was not tested since the roll to September on Wednesday. There was a
difference in demand on the cars that could spread to the PNW and those that did
not spread well.
**Spring Wheat: Prices are for US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat with less
than 2.0 ppm Vomitoxin. The 14's were 51.25 to 101.25 cents lower at 9.2675.
the basis was 240 cents over the September futures delivered Chicago/Beyond.
The 15's were 3.75 to 53.75 cents higher at 10.0675N, the basis was 320N cents
over the September futures delivered Chicago/Beyond. The 12 pct protein Hard Red
Winter Wheat on the spot floor had no quote. The 20 day to-arrive truck
delivery for 12 pct protein HRW bid into Minneapolis was 14.50 cents lower at 7.
5865, the basis was 20 cents over the September Hard Red Winter Wheat futures.
Barley: Robust Malting Barley 60 pct or better plump max. 2.0 ppm vomitoxin
had no quote. The to-arrive bid for 1.0 ppm vomitoxin rail delivered to
Minneapolis was 15 cents higher at 5.60. Feed Barley delivered into Duluth
closed the week with no bid. Feed Barley delivered into Minneapolis was 20
cents lower with a bid of 3.30.
Corn: US 2 Yellow Corn for June was 9.75 cents lower at 4.2075 with the basis 2
cents lower at 22 cents under the July futures. The to-arrive bids for corn
are: July at 4.2075; August at 4.2100; October at 3.9525; November at 4.0025 and
River Open at 4.2225.
Oats: US 2 or better Oats had no quote on the spot market. The To-arrive bids
for oats were 1.00 to 11.00 cents lower from 3.7625-3.9625, the basis was steady
to 10 cents higher from 40-50 cents over the July futures.
Soybeans: US 1 Yellow Soybeans for June was 16.25 cents higher at 14.1400,
with the basis steady at 23 cents under the July futures. The to-arrive bids
for soybeans are: July 14.1400; August 13.4375; October 12.0925; November at
12.1325 and River Open at 12.2225.
