Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators 
  
This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by  
the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture. 
   
Illinois country grain prices were lower on Thursday afternoon. Slow export
interest helped to pull corn and soybean futures lower. In the cash markets
basis for both corn and soybeans remained steady to firm.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn 
bids were 11 to 13 cents lower at 6.28-6.45. Soybean bids were 8 to 9 cents 
lower at 13.72-13.86. 
  
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 
10 to 12 cents lower at 6.41-6.50. Soybean bids were 8 to 10 cents lower at 
13.82-14.00.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 11 to 14 cents lower 
at 6.17-6.58. Soybean bids were 7 cents lower at 13.87-14.03. Wheat bids were 
mostly 2 to 3 cents lower at 6.85-6.99.
