Wet weather in Minnesota delayed May planting and now is delaying herbicide applications, which has resulted in 6 to 8 inch giant ragweed and lambsquarters in fields that weren’t burnt down prior to planting or did not receive a pre-emergence treatment.  Furthermore, poor field conditions are resulting in uneven corn stands, but, because of its application flexibility, Halex® GT herbicide is the go-to treatment for a post-emergence weed control in corn. In soybean, Paul Barchenger relies on Flexstar® GT 3.5 herbicide to take down giant ragweed, some of which is glyphosate- and ALS-resistant.
