Early planning for San Diego ARA conference

It’s not too early to mark your calendar and plan to attend the Agricultural Retailers Association Annual Conference and Expo. The events will be held Nov. 27-29 in San Diego, Calif.

ARA’s conference planning committee members visited San Diego on January 9-11 to check out the venues for the conference, expo and associated ARAPAC Events. This venue is the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel in downtown San Diego—right on the water. The hotel is also a short walk to SeaPort Village, which is full of shops, restaurants and cafés that overlook sailboats in the harbor.  

The ARA conference planning committee reported being highly excited about the location they selected for this year’s ARAPAC dinner and auction, according to Michelle Hummel, ARA vice president of marketing and communications.  The dinner and auction will be aboard the USS Midway.  

The impressive aircraft carrier and museum docked in San Diego holds a collection of 25 restored aircraft. The USS Midway was the lead ship of her class and the first to be commissioned after World War II. The carrier was active in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm.

ARA will be providing more details and information on registration for the conference and associated ARAPAC events later this summer, but spreading the event city and venue by word of mouth can start now it was suggested by ARA.
