CropLife America issues its year end review
What a year 2011 has been: fast and furious, with some progress mixed in and plenty of challenge left to start off 2012.
The most important thing to say about 2011 is THANK YOU to all who have worked so tirelessly on CLA objectives this year. Our member volunteers at CLA are second to none; you inspire all you work with, and amaze the many you work around or through!
The same accolades are also applicable to our great CLA staff who work with some fabulous external consultants and the very best set of allies anyone could ask for.
In short, we have seen CLA do well on all four of our major strategic plan goals: lead on the top priority issues in our annual business plan; further enhance the reputation of the crop protection industry; retain and increase our membership; and operate our organization in an efficient and ongoing manner.
Below are a few key highlights from 2011:
Our annual business plan priorities all saw significant progress (ESA, water issues, modern ag communications outreach, spray drift, sustainability). Our tier II issues also received appropriate attention, including chemical site security, electronic labeling, adjuvants, harmonization, and stewardship among others.
Every one of CLA's 2011 major meetings were out of the park successes: our April Spring Conference (in conjunction with RISE), the second National Policy Conference, and our incredible Annual Meeting in Dana Point, CA, with both singing board chairmen and Miss America, all were fantastic from both a content and participation point of view.
