The Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) Mississippi Delta Conservation In Action Tour will be held May 30-31, but the early registration discount ends May 1.

The tour is annually held in different areas of the country to educate participants about ongoing efforts to continually improve water conservation, nutrient management and soil health.

The tour will stop at three Mississippi operations. One will show an in-action water quality monitoring system “linked to the nutrient reduction program along the Mississippi River.” A high-technology cotton gin will be another stop. The third stop will be a farming operation that includes managed wildlife along with cropping—conservation and hunting—for dual income.

CTIC is partnering with Delta Farmers advocating Resource Management (Delta F.A.R.M.) to develop the tour, and several sponsors of tour activities are involved. The major tour leader sponsor for the tour is The Mosaic Company.

Special tour rate for hotel rooms at Harrah’s Tunica expires May 13. Early bird tour fees are between $100 and $25 with many job functions qualifying individuals for the low-priced registration.

Further information and registration can be accomplished by going to www.ctic.org/CIATours.  Information can also be obtained by calling 765-494-9555.
