When the Agricultural Retailers Association initiated a survey of the agricultural retail and distribution industry in the U.S., ARA requested help to shape the future of the retail industry.
“The Ag Retailers Association (ARA) in partnership with AgProfessional magazine is conducting a survey of the retail industry from Nov. 15 through Dec. 15, 2011. This survey will identify trends and needs within the retail industry, assisting the ARA in determining its long-term strategic focus…to better serve you,” the advertising in AgProfessional magazine and various forms of electronic media explains.
There is a reward to the first 40 respondents per week during the four-week period when people complete the survey. The first 40 retail/distribution industry respondents who qualify and complete the survey each week will receive their choice of one of the following: $35 Amazon gift card, $35 donation to 4-H Youth Development Organization, $35 donation to the American Red Cross, $35 donation to the FFA Foundation or $50 credit voucher for the 2012 ARA Conference and Expo. Thursday, Dec. 15 is the last day to qualify for the chance to win a prize.
It needs to be noted that ARA is looking for one completed survey from each branch location of retailer and/or distributor operations. The survey is not restricted to ARA members. Large and small operations will provide valuable information for the regional and national data. It is expected that extremely valuable knowledge about the state of the U.S. agronomy distribution business will be determined.
“We expect to discover trends and practices that may or may not be widely known such as fertilizer practices, custom application trends, adoption of biotechnology, seed developments, custom blending, pesticide storage and handling issues, retailer concerns and lots more,” it was announced. “The final information we receive is going to assist ARA in adjusting membership programs and better target retailers’ needs based on the trends identified in the final report.”
All responses will be held confidential. A company name is not being requested of respondents, only the state of the retail location, thereby ensuring confidentiality while allowing measurement of regional differences in any report.
