AGCO Application Equipment is seeking nominations for the 2012 Operator of the Year. Agricultural retailers across North America are invited to nominate their best custom applicators who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities on and out of the field.

The services that custom applicators provide make them a key component in the success of the U.S. agricultural industry. Before, during and after the growing season, these professionals apply the fertilizers and crop-protection products that ensure a bounty of food and fiber for consumers. They spend long hours in the field driving sophisticated application equipment and racing the clock to ensure that applications are made accurately and in a timely manner.

From the nominations, four finalists will be invited to join AGCO as honorary guests at the 2012 Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) Conference and Expo Nov. 27–29 in San Diego. During the conference, the 2012 Operator of the Year will be announced and awarded a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Now in its seventh year, Operator of the Year is open to U.S. and Canadian custom applicators. Nominations will be accepted at http://search.applylikeapro.com. Deadline for entries is Oct. 31. All nominees will receive a certificate from AGCO recognizing their nomination for this prestigious award.

“Many of our past finalists have told us that a nomination for Operator of the Year is a great way to let operators know they are valued and appreciated,” says Mark Sharitz, AGCO Application Equipment director of marketing. “These operators have one of the toughest jobs in farming, and the Operator of the Year program is our way of expressing our recognition and gratitude for the excellent work they perform. We’re eager to see this year’s nominees.”

Operator of the Year applicants are evaluated on their commitment to the profession, performance in the field, and how they stand out as valued members of their communities. For more information and official rules, visit http://search.applylikeapro.com.
