Drought continues to influence corn progress
Corn conditions dipped slightly this week as drought returned to Texas and the southern Plains while progress in the nation’s top 18 producing states lag behind 2010’s pace. According the USDA’s Crop Progress report released on Aug. 22, 57 percent of the country’s corn is in “good” to “excellent” condition, compared to 60 percent last week.
