Viterra Inc. has purchased the assets of Agrium's anhydrous ammonia (NH3) terminal at Vanscoy, Saskatchewan, Canada. The company had been leasing the facility from Agrium as principal tenant since 2001, and chose to exercise its lease buyout option. The purchase includes a 36,000 metric tonne NH3 tank.

"Over the past five years Viterra has made significant investments to improve the operational capacity of its NH3 network. We will continue to play a leadership role, investing in our retail and terminal sites to support the growth of NH3 on farms in Western Canada," said Doug Wonnacott, Viterra's senior vice-president, Agri-products.
