A California grocery store chain has recalled hundreds of cartons of Del Monte cantaloupes that may have been contaminated with salmonella. However, no illnesses have been reported.



According to an Associated Press report, Sacramento, Calif.-based Raley's voluntary removed 1,120 cartons of Del Monte-brand whole cantaloupe after routine testing spotted salmonella.



The California Department of Public Health issued a consumer alert to warn consumers who may have the fruit in their refrigerators, according to media reports.
