The new Plant Doctor Education Foundation (PDEF) has been established to help support the Doctor of Plant Medicine program at the University of Florida and the Doctor of Plant Health program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
"The overall goal of PDEF is to provide financial assistance and other support for the Doctor of Plant Medicine program at the University of Florida and the Doctor of Plant Health program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and other similar programs to be developed in the future," said PDEF Chairman Lynn Henderson, publisher of Agri Marketing magazine, Chesterfield, Mo.
Other members of the PDEF board include Madeline Mellinger, CEO of Glades Crop Care, Jupiter, Fla., and Ken Bader, Ph.D., CEO of Global Agribusiness, Chesterfield, Mo., and former Professor of Agronomy and Dean of Students at The Ohio State University and Vice Chancellor at the University of Nebraska, and past CEO of the American Soybean Association. Bader has also been named the foundation's executive director.
