Florida grower-shippers are expecting a more normal fall season.

Planting as rains from Tropical Storm Nicole drenched some south Florida growing areas, grower-shippers in late September said they hope the Sunshine State won't see a repeat of last season, when freezes wrecked bell pepper, squash and tomato production.

The record low temperatures of January and February and unfavorable growing conditions that followed delayed plants from maturing and depressed production.
