The Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City will be holding its annual Ag Food Legal Update with Shook, Hardy & Bacon on Jan. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo.

This year's legal update will be held in conjunction with the Missouri Governor's Conference on Agriculture.

Shook, Hardy & Bacon Partners Phil Goldberg (Public Policy), Bill Martucci (Employment), Carrie McAtee (Employment), Tim Congrove (Class Actions & Complex Litigation), and Terry Satterlee (Environmental), and FBI Special Agent Craig Watz will provide an overview of legal and regulatory issues facing agribusiness interests in the new year.

Conference attendees will learn the latest on agroterrorism; the burgeoning animal-rights movement; food-safety recalls and liability litigation; emerging water-related trends, including potential shortages, contamination, sustainability, and "greenwashing" claims; and employment law issues ranging from recent child-labor law changes and worker safety to immigration.
