Fortune magazine has ranked Tyson Foods, Inc., Springdale, Ark., as America's Most Admired Company in Food Production. The honor is part of the magazine's 23rd Annual "Most Admired" list.

To compile the list, the magazine asked 10,000 executives, directors and securities analysts to rate companies in their industry on attributes such as innovation, employee talent, financial soundness, quality of management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, long-term investment and quality of products/services. Tyson ranked number one in "food production" for the second time in three years. The company also ranks in the top ten among all "consumer products" companies listed by the magazine.

To qualify for the list, a company must rank among the Fortune 1,000 or among the top 25 foreign companies in U.S. revenues. In all, 10,000 people ranked 582 companies on eight attributes. The resulting list and related stories appear in the magazine's March 7 issue.
