USDA will release a new Crop Production and Supply/Demand reports on Tuesday, November 9. Trade expectations ahead of the report according to a Dow Jones survey indicates the market is looking for a decreased corn crop and increased soybean crop. The national average corn yield is estimated at 154.4 bushels per acre, down from 155.8 last month. The average trade estimate for production is 12.545 billion bushels, down 119 million from October. Ending stocks are estimated to be 840 million bushels, down from 902 million in October. The average trade estimate for soybean yield is 44.6 bushels per acre, up slightly from USDA’s October estimate of 44.4 bushels per acre. Soybean production would increase to 3.426 billion bushels, up 18 million from the October estimate. Despite an expected increase in production, ending stocks are expected to fall to around 245 million bushels compared to the October estimate of 265 million due to increased demand.
