LIVERMORE, CALIFORNIA - Topcon Precision Agriculture (TPA) announced that one of the most successful products in Topcon's 77-year history – the HiPer series of satellite receivers – has been expanded to include a specialty receiver for the worldwide agriculture market. The HiPer AG is now available.

Kevin Cobb, director of agriculture product management, said, "HiPer AG is a versatile component for precision farming operations and the most advanced and compact receiver available in the precision ag market. The integrated one-piece unit incorporates a GPS receiver, radio communications and batteries."

He said, "The HiPer AG is a next generation replacement of the HiPer Lite as a portable base station for high accuracy RTK applications and is designed for simple setup and operation with Topcon's Systems 150, 200, 210, 250, or 350."

HiPer AG is a dual-frequency, GPS+GLONASS receiver that provides access to more satellites at any point in time for more consistent and reliable positioning in all field conditions.

As a multi-function, multi-purpose receiver, HiPer AG can receive and process signals from both GPS and GLONASS satellite constellations and can utilize corrections via L1/L2 C/A, P-Code and carrier data (as well as WAAS/EGNOS signals), in addition to private carrier correction providers such as Omnistar to improve both accuracy and reliability of points and positions.

The HiPer AG features include multi-path mitigation and co-op tracking, plus under-canopy and low-signal strength reception. Cobb said, "The HiPer AG receiver will prove Topcon's industry-leading performance in signal reception, and the overall positioning integrity required for consistent and repeatable high accuracy auto-steering, precision application and land leveling."
