Corn futures are higher at midsession. Strong demand projections and spillover support from wheat have helped push prices higher. Weekly export sales of 32.7 million bushels were within trade expectations. Harvest is expected to gain speed in the central and western Corn Belt this week, but rain in the east will slow activity there. December is 4 3/4 cents $2.58 1/2 and March is 4 1/4 cents higher at $2.72.

Soybean futures are trading higher at midday. The market is being supported by spillover strength from wheat, strong weekly export sales, and forecasts for wetter weather in the Midwest next week that could slow harvest. Weekly export sales of 31.8 million bushels were above pre-report trade expectations. November is 4 3/4 cents higher at $5.47 1/4 and January is 4 3/4 cents higher at $5.61 1/4.

Wheat futures are strongly higher at midday. Initial gains were triggered by the Australian Wheat Board lowering their production estimate to 12-15 million tonnes, down sharply from the previous forecast of 18-20 million. Technical buying has helped extend gains. Tight global stocks of wheat are currently overshadowing rather sluggish demand for U.S. wheat. CBOT Dec is 9 1/2 cents higher at $4.33 3/4, KCBT Dec was 6 1/2 cents higher at $4.85 1/2, and MGE Dec was 7 1/2 cents higher at $4.67.

Cattle futures are trading mixed at midday. The market was initially higher on spillover strength from hogs. However, choppy trade has developed as the market waits for cash market developments. Traders are currently looking for steady to firm trade due to stabilizing beef prices. Last week trade was generally around $89 with some reports of $90 trade. October is 30 cents lower at $90.70 and December is 3 cent slower at $90.00.

Lean hog futures are higher at midsession. A steady tone to the cash market and the $1.69 jump in pork cutouts on Wednesday are bullish factors. Position evening ahead of the Hogs and Pigs report due out on Friday and short-covering from technically oversold conditions are also supportive. October is 55 cents higher at $62.70 and December is 68 cents higher at $60.30.
