Valent U.S.A. Corporation announced the launch of Intego Suite System for soybeans. The Intego Suite System contains the first new, novel seed protection fungicide chemistry registered in 30 years by the Environmental Protection Agency for protection against Pythium and Phytophthora.

The Intego Suite System contains dual modes of action that creates a complete zone of protection around the seedling, above and below ground, to protect against a wider spectrum of Pythium and Phytophthora species.

The new system is proven to deliver a yield increase of 1.5 bushels per acre in soybeans above the standard, as demonstrated in independent university and contract research field trials. The Intego Suite System also delivers broad spectrum insect protection.

“Pythium and Phytophthora pathogens attack very rapidly after planting, so the seed needs a secure line of defense. The zone of protection created by the Intego Suite System protects the entire plant and provides better protection across many species of Pythium and Phytophthora, resulting in higher yields,” said Todd Mayhew, seed protection product development manager for Valent.

“We feel that Intego will be a game-changing product in the seed protection fungicide business,” said Trey Soud, seed protection business manager for Valent.

The seed treatment is to be applied at the rate of 3.11 fluid ounces per hundredweight for soybeans, which Valent says gives flexibility in slurry preparation by the seed treater operator.
