USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture is holding a public meeting to solicit public comments for consideration in the development of the Fiscal Year 2011 Agriculture and Food Research Initiative request for applications.

The meeting will be held June 2, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the One Washington Circle Hotel, 1 Washington Cir., NW, Washington, DC.

Notice of the meeting was published in the Federal Register on May 7, which contains additional meeting and comment procedures. All comments must be received by close of business on June 7 to be considered. Contact Terri Joya for more information.

AFRI is NIFA's flagship competitive grant program and was established under section 7406 of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008, otherwise known as the 2008 Farm Bill.
