Awareness of cover crops and their multiple benefits have been on the rise in recent years, and one new company plans to help more farmers use and adopt them. The newly formed cover crop seed and advisory company, Future Generation Ag LLC, will be based in Leola, Pa. The new company was founded by Wayne Ebersole, general manager, and three other cover crop experts, Josh Riker, Jay Lapp and Konrad Martin.
The four had previously worked together at Cover Crop Solutions before it was dissolved earlier this year.
"We decided to try to build back the good we saw in Cover Crop Solutions," Ebersole said. "We've been able to procure seed supplies to make several different cover crop mixes, all similar to those we previously sold."
As the company begins operations, it'll offer seed of its Bullseye Radish, Buckshot Annual Ryegrass, FGA Crimson Clover, FGA Winter Pea, FGA Winter Forage Triticale, and Cereal Rye. In addition to single species of seed, the company will also have six premixed blends available through the CoverMax brand.
All of the partners are committed to reclaiming, restoring, and improving soil health in order to produce wholesome, nutritious crops for food and feed. They're prepared to help customers use cover crops to this end.
"We want to continue our work in the cover crop seed industry with a fresh vision for helping seed dealers grow their businesses, and a continued passion for helping farmers improve their soil stewardship," says Konrad Martin, sales manager for the new venture.
