New On-Line Marketplace Brings All-Things-Biodiesel Together
National Biodiesel Board unveils most comprehensive biodiesel e-commerce site in the world

SAN ANTONIO- The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) has long served as the industry clearinghouse for biodiesel information. Now, the trade association has launched a one-stop marketplace for biodiesel interests to do business over the Internet. The NBB will launch the biodiesel commerce Web site,, at its National Biodiesel Conference & Expo on Feb. 4-7. The new site will complement its information site, takes its place as the world's largest biodiesel marketplace, focusing on products, services and industry-related companies. A variety of services assembled within it include online ads and classified ads, the biodiesel store and a biodiesel directory, in which companies can be listed for free.

"We recognized that as our industry grew, it would need a service like this, and it makes sense for NBB to take this step since our Web site has a reputation as the leading resource for biodiesel information worldwide," said Joe Jobe, NBB CEO. "This truly allows biodiesel information, service and product seekers a one-stop shop."

Visitors to NBB's site continue to grow with no end in sight, topping 14.4 million hits and 410,000 visitors per month worldwide. It is one of the most visited sites on the Web, and is in the top 2 percent of all Web sites. As a result of this success, NBB received numerous requests to advertise or sell products through its official Web site. In an effort to maintain the educational/informational focus of the official Web site, NBB made the timely release of the only Web site of its kind with the NBB seal of approval: It will be linked with the informational site.

A continually-updated biodiesel directory that is searchable various ways, including by name or category. Businesses can sign up now at for a free spot in the directory.

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel that is made from domestic resources such as soybean oil or other domestic fats and vegetable oils. Biodiesel significantly cuts harmful environmental emissions, including carbon monoxide and life cycle carbon dioxide. Production tripled between 2005 and 2006, from 75 million gallons to about 250 million gallons, making it the fastest-growing alternative fuel in the nation.
