Dean Foods and its WhiteWave Foods division recently donated $100,000 to the Organic Center for Education and Promotion to further advance research and education efforts aimed at better understanding the benefits of organic foods.

"We are pleased to provide continued support to the Organic Center for Education and Promotion in their work to provide credible scientific research about the benefits of organic products," states Gregg Engles, chairman of the board and CEO of Dean Foods Company. "We view the work of the Center as integral to our business and mission because research and consumer education are key to the sustained growth of the organic industry."

The organic industry has experienced impressive growth with sales for 2004 estimated to exceed $12 billion dollars. As organic foods become more popular among consumers, industry leaders are united in their mission to bring greater awareness to the benefits of organic foods.

The Organic Center will host a reception for donors in association with the All Things Organic(TM) Conference and Trade Show. The show runs April 30 through May 2 in Chicago at McCormick Place and is the only all-organic event of its kind in the U.S., featuring over 400 booths of organic products and numerous educational sessions.
