DULUTH, Ga. -- Challenger continues to be one of the leading innovators in the ag machinery business with the launch of the new ProTech Service and Support program available from local CAT dealers.

Customers who purchase or lease a qualifying Challenger tractor or combine between January 1, 2006, and December 31, 2006, will be automatically enrolled in Challenger's new ProTech Service and Support Program, which includes a valuable four-year extended powertrain warranty and much more at no additional cost.

New Challenger tractors from the MT400 series through the MT800 series are eligible for the program. These units will receive a 4-year/4,000-hour Extended Service Contract. New Challenger 660 and 670 combines will receive an extended warranty for 4 years or 2,000 hours. In each case, the Extended Service Contract is provided through Cat(R) Insurance and is fully transferable.

This extended warranty is just part of the ProTech package, said Doug Griffin, director of Challenger sales and marketing for North America. The program also includes a new "Machine Down" loaner program, which is available at participating dealers.

"Our goal is simple," Griffin says. "We want to keep our customers up and running. Cat dealers are taking agricultural equipment to a whole new level with the ProTech Service and Support Program."

As a provision of the "Machine Down" loaner program, Challenger and participating Cat dealers will offer a loaner machine in the event an eligible Challenger tractor or combine becomes inoperable and cannot be repaired within two business days of diagnosis. In the meantime, Cat dealers remain committed to keeping downtime to a minimum, with on-location service with mobile service trucks with diagnostic equipment.

"ProTech is not a short-term promotion," Griffin said. "It's another step in an on-going, long-term relationship between Challenger owners and the Caterpillar dealers."
