Bayer CropScience LP and BASF Corporation have entered into an agreement through which Bayer CropScience will supply tebuconazole fungicide for use in the United States by BASF in a combination product with pyraclostrobin for disease control in soybeans.

"This agreement is between two of the global companies involved in the fight against Asian soybean rust and is a major step forward in providing additional crop protection solutions to the American soybean grower to combat the potential threat of this devastating disease in the United States," said Bill Buckner, head of U.S. business operations for Bayer CropScience.

"Bayer CropScience has gained a great deal of experience and expertise in managing this disease in South America, where Asian soybean rust has been prevalent," Buckner added.
