As college basketball fans cheer their teams down the road to the NCAA Finals, Albertsons, The Coca-Cola Company, and Kraft Foods are teaming up to support the development of the athletes of tomorrow. The three companies announced today that they will donate $260,000 in athletic equipment to youth programs nationwide through a new charitable program called Keeping Sports Alive in Our Local Communities. The program, which tips off this month, was created to provide a boost to local organizations confronted with shrinking funds for youth sports programs nationwide.

In partnership with Coca-Cola and Kraft, Albertsons has selected youth organizations in the communities it serves throughout the nation to receive awards that may be redeemed for sports equipment. Recipients will be able to select the athletic equipment that best suits their program needs, with available items ranging from football helmets and soccer balls, to badminton sets and jump ropes.

The Albertsons, Coca-Cola and Kraft partnership donation recipients include select Boys and Girls Club chapters, schools, and community youth sports programs across the country.
