CropLife America (CLA) announced that submissions are now open for the second year of CLA’s Information Technology Innovation Award. The award, held with support from AgGateway, recognizes companies and organizations in the crop protection industry that embrace technological advancement in modern agriculture. The award identifies companies and organizations that adopt new technologies, including social media, into their business operations and have benefitted as a result, whether it be improved business processes, increased profitability or cost-effective savings, or improved customer relations. CLA member companies from all aspects of the crop protection industry, including manufacturers, formulators and distributors, are welcome to participate.

“Technological advancements continue to transform U.S. agriculture, including how companies conduct everyday business,” said Jay Vroom, president and CEO of CLA. “Whether it is through innovative communications or streamlined financial and related transactional practices, this award helps distinguish those working within the crop protection industry that adopt the latest technology to improve agricultural techniques. CLA is excited to work with AgGateway and recognize our members for their contribution to modern agriculture.”

CLA member companies are strongly encouraged to submit an application with an example of how a cutting-edge technology program or process has streamlined business practices, improved customer relations or contributed to modern agricultural development. Finalists will be selected by representatives from CLA and AgGateway. The winner will be recognized at CLA’s Annual Meeting in September, taking place Sept. 24-26 at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island in Amelia Island, Fla. This award is open to CLA members only. As part of the award, AgGateway will submit a donation to a charity of the winning organization’s choice. In addition, the winning technology will be highlighted in a news media article published by the CropLife Media Group.

CLA serves as the voice of the crop protection industry in the U.S., and its members produce, sell and distribute virtually all the crop protection products used by American farmers. AgGateway is a non-profit consortium of businesses serving the agriculture industry. The consortium helps member companies improve their profitability and productivity by educating, promoting and expanding participation in eBusiness in agriculture and agriculture-related businesses.
