Peter Clark received the Carl F. Hertz Distinguished Service in Agriculture award from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers during the society’s annual meeting in Phoenix, Ariz., last week.

Clark has a distinguished career in appraisal relating to Canada and England. He held positions with the Appraisal Institute of Canada and has won awards from the institute and other organizations through the years.

In his acceptance speech, he talked about the future and sustainable agriculture requiring everyone to have different mind sets. He suggested that we need to address social and societal needs, not just the economics of agriculture.

“I think we need a new mind set that embraces individualization, collaboration and innovation,” he said.
