The seventh annual 2013 Chemical Sector Security Summit will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center July 10-11.

The Department of Homeland Security co-sponsors this annual event with the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council. This year's speakers and session topics will provide extensive information and resources to enhance security efforts of many levels of companies manufacturing or handling agricultural chemical products.

Session topics include implementation of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS), cyber threats, vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies, and voluntary programs. Check the registration site to evaluate if the event would be appropriate for an employee entrusted with security, safety and risk assessment should attend.

Additionally, reportedly back by popular demand are pre-summit activities. This year's workshops are being offered on the Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT), Active Shooter Preparedness, and the Cyber Security Evaluation Tool.
