Farmers National Company (FNC) has diversified from its solid background in farmland and ranchland management into forest resource management and consulting.
The Omaha, Neb., company announced the addition of James Houser Consulting Foresters, LLC (JHCF) to its service offering. The addition of the forestry service will expand FNC?s existing farm and ranch management and consulting business throughout their 24-state service area. James Houser will lead the forestry staff, operations and future business growth from the existing JHCF office located in Jacksonville, Texas.
"Synergies between the two companies are a perfect combination for FNC to gain expertise and JHCF to grow the forestry business. JHCF has been in business since 1981 and has vast experience and expertise providing a variety of services for landowners, such as reforestation, complete management plans, timber cruising, timber marketing, and appraising all types of timber losses," said Jim Farrell, FNC president and CEO. JHCF now manages over 200,000 acres of timberland in the East Texas market area with tracts ranging in size from 10 to 8,000 acres.
FNC claims to be the nation's "leading agricultural farm and ranch management and agricultural real estate sales company." In addition to now offering forest resource management, Farmers National Company currently manages more than 4,700 farms and ranches (2 million acres) in 24 states. The company has sold over 3,500 farms and more than $2.3 billion of real estate during the last five years.
The addition of forest management fits with many of the additional services provided by FNC including auctions, appraisals, insurance, consultation services, oil and gas management, lake management, FNC Ag Stock, and a national hunting lease service.
