FarmLogs announced its new predictive planning and budgeting features and a major iPhone app update at Commodity Classic in San Antonio last week.

The updated iPhone app will allow users to add fields directly on their mobile device by clicking on preloaded field shapes. Previously only available on the web, the mobile app now allows farmers to view at-the-field rainfall data and crop history information for each field.

The new planning and budgeting features, available now at farmlogs.com, automatically populate predicted crops, inputs and budgets for each field based on crop history. Farmers have the ability to add or modify crops and inputs field-by-field including seed variety, fertilizers and chemicals. This streamlined planning and budgeting process will allow farmers to minimize data entry, estimate costs, maximize yield and revenue, and focus on actual planting.

Co-founder and CEO Jesse Vollmar, was recently named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top “30 Under 30.” With farms in all 50 states and 130 countries, FarmLogs has achieved substantial growth since launching its farm data platform two years ago. The product is now being used by more than 5 percent of row-crop farms in the U.S, noted Vollmar.

FarmLogs is a farm management software and mobile apps for helping farmers plan, manage and analyze their farms’ operations in order to increase yield and profitability. The company is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich. More information about the company is at FarmLogs.com.
