Complaint about Texas fertilizer plant investigation
Apparently there are government agencies tripping over themselves and not cooperating fully among themselves in trying to solve the cause of the fire that resulted in the massive fertilizer explosion in West, Texas.
The Dallas Morning News reported that the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) sent a letter to Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), who is chairwoman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, and who will be chairing a committee investigation into the fire and explosion.
In the letter, CSB Board Chairman Rafael Moure-Eraso complained about personnel of the CSB not being allowed access to the site and witnesses, while the Texas state fire marshal’s office and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were like bulls in a china shop destroying evidence using large earth-moving equipment.
