RR 2Xtend soybeans to deliver benefits across all maturity groups

Monsanto is advancing toward commercializing Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans, and this year the company will expand its training and education efforts to reach a broader number of growers and geographies. The USDA deregulated Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans in January, and Monsanto anticipates the new technology will be available to growers in 2016 pending necessary regulatory approvals.

Ethanol plants, growers partner with Syngenta to improve grain

Corn feedstock is the single biggest input cost for an ethanol plant, and ethanol yield per bushel is one of the most important drivers of plant profitability. Because higher quality corn means higher ethanol yields, Syngenta is working with ethanol plants to help growers improve grain quality and earn a premium for doing so.

The Missouri Pollinator Conservancy Program offers beekeepers new ways to protect hives from pesticide drift. The group is working with the DriftWatch Specialty Crop Site Registry to help pesticide applicators locate nearby hives before spraying.

The Fund focuses on new technology solutions in food productivity, sustainability and nutrition to address the ever-decreasing agricultural land resources, climate change and changing population demographics.

Enlist Weed Control System joins Flag the Technology program

Dow AgroSciences has added a flag for the Enlist Weed Control System to the University of Arkansas’ Flag the Technology program. Building on the Roundup Ready system, the Enlist system is a new herbicide-tolerant trait technology that will provide exceptional weed control in corn, soybeans and cotton. Regulatory approvals are pending for Enlist cotton.
