USDA announces $58.25 million to protect ag and plants from pests

USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has allocated $58.25 million from Section 10007 of the 2014 Farm Bill. This money will support 434 projects that prevent the introduction or spread of plant pests and diseases that threaten U.S. agriculture and the environment and ensure the availability of a healthy supply of clean plant stock in the United States.

Calif. Prop 65 glyphosate listing is actually a national concern

Monsanto says California’s Prop 65 needs to get its facts straight in a recent complaint filed against the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. The state recently listed glyphosate (Roundup) as a known carcinogen to its Proposition 65 list based on a controversial report from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015.

FMC announces expanded label for Rhyme fungicide

Rhyme fungicide from FMC, first registered in California in late 2014 for grapes, has now received approval from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation for a wide range of specialty crops including: almonds, walnuts, tomatoes, strawberries, melons, stone fruits, brassicas and leafy vegetables.
